After a hectic year, I decided it was high time to take a step back and enjoy some quality time with my family. We booked a trip to the breathtaking Gower Peninsula in Wales, and what an incredible holiday it turned out to be. We spent much of our time exploring the awe-inspiring coastline, immersing ourselves in the natural beauty of the area. From wandering through the sand dunes to reach Rhossili Beach and Spaniard’s Rock, to strolling along the golden sands of Three Cliffs Bay, every moment felt like a dream.
One particularly memorable day was spent trekking through the countryside, where we stumbled upon a hidden gem—a mesmerising waterfall tucked away in a secluded spot. The sound of the rushing water and the lush greenery surrounding it created such a magical atmosphere, and we all felt like intrepid explorers discovering something truly special.
Another remarkable moment was when we visited one of the oldest yew trees in the UK. Standing in the presence of this ancient giant was an almost spiritual experience. The sheer size and age of the tree were awe-inspiring, and it was humbling to think about how many centuries it had stood, weathering storms and witnessing the passage of time. It was a beautiful reminder of nature’s resilience and history.

Our cottage was idyllically situated on the moors, surrounded by an enchanting landscape where sheep and horses roamed freely. The children were absolutely thrilled to have their very own duck pond nearby, and nothing brought them more joy than feeding the ducks each morning—a simple yet heart-warming start to the day.
One of the highlights of our trip was attending the Gower Heritage Centre Wassail. We brought along our obby oss, Margh Rudh, to meet her Welsh cousins, the Mari Lwyds, in a magical celebration of a cherished Welsh folk tradition. It was an unforgettable two days filled with music, merriment, and cultural richness. To make the experience even more special, we extended our trip by two days to attend the Wassail at Chepstow, which was equally exciting and left us with lasting memories.

Naturally, I couldn’t resist bringing my camera along to document the experience. I captured countless snapshots of my family savouring these precious moments, as well as some stunning landscape photos that showcased the Gower’s picturesque beauty. Every photo seemed to tell its own story, and I was thrilled to make the most of such an extraordinary setting.
