Enya & Isaac’s Wedding at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens

Enya and Isaac’s wedding was my second time photographing at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens and I was glad to be returning to such a great venue, one with subtropical plants, hidden pathways, and the occasional giant sculpture peeking out from behind a palm. The weather was on its very best behaviour. Warm, bright, and beautifully Cornish from morning to evening. I, however, was not quite as prepared — I realised far too late that I’d left the sun cream at home. A full day wandering the gardens under that sunshine made sure I didn’t forget again.

The ceremony took place inside the incredible James Turrell Skyspace — a white, circular, otherworldly dome tucked quietly into the landscape. Although I’d photographed at Tremenheere before, this was my first ceremony inside the Skyspace itself. My previous couple had married at the Pagoda, so stepping into this glowing, echoing space felt like discovering a whole new side of the venue.

The Skyspace is breathtaking,  it creates a ceremony atmosphere unlike anywhere else, and it was the perfect setting for Enya and Isaac to exchange their vows.

After the ceremony and a relaxed cocktail hour, we wandered into the gardens for portraits. One of my favourite parts of the day was how unhurried it all felt. No rushing, no ticking clock — just the three of us strolling through the gardens, stopping whenever the light or the scenery asked us to. It felt more like a gentle walk with friends than a portrait session, and the photos reflect that ease.

Tremenheere is a dream for portraits: subtropical planting, winding paths, sculptures half-hidden in greenery, and those sweeping views across Mount’s Bay. Having photographed there before, I already had a few favourite spots in mind, and the sunshine made them even better to explore.

As evening arrived, everyone gathered at Tremenheere Kitchen. The team there were brilliant all day, and the food was exactly what you hope for after hours on your feet. A huge thank you to Enya and Isaac for making sure I was looked after — it genuinely makes such a difference during a long wedding day.

Returning to Tremenheere reminded me why I love photographing there so much. The gardens, the architecture, the views — they create a backdrop that feels both dramatic and deeply peaceful. No two weddings ever look the same.
