St Ives was already buzzing with Easter holiday energy, so arriving early turned out to be a blessing. It gave me a quiet moment to wander down to the Pedn‑Olva Hotel, where Rachel was getting ready. Freshly refurbished and perched above the sea, the Pedn‑Olva has that unmistakable St Ives charm — calm, coastal, and full of light.

The ceremony unfolded with a lovely ease. One of the most touching moments came as Rachel walked in and Leon saw her for the first time — a brief, heartfelt exchange that set the tone for the rest of the day.

Afterwards, we slipped away to the St Ives Arts Club for some relaxed portraits. Somehow, in the middle of a busy town, we found ourselves completely alone. Soft light, sea air, and waves breaking against Smeaton’s Pier created a backdrop that felt effortlessly “St Ives” — simple, natural, and beautifully unforced.

From there, it was on to the Bier Huis Grand Café, where Rachel and Leon were welcomed with warmth and laughter. The atmosphere softened into that lovely part of a wedding day where everyone relaxes — conversations flow, glasses clink, and the small, in‑between moments become the ones you remember.

The evening rounded out with the cake cutting and a gentle, joy‑filled first dance, bringing the day together in a way that felt intimate, heartfelt, and unmistakably them.
